Dashell Havenstein (cq left),8, of Denver's Pack 536, covers his eyes to block the smoke as he helps properly dispose of the red strips of the United States flag while attending the United States flag retirement ceremony hosted by West Metro Fire Rescue held on the grounds of the Denver Federal Center on Tuesday, June 14th 2005, in Lakewood, Colo. The meaning of each stripe was explained and then disposed of by burning during the hour long ceremony, the remains of the flags and ashes will be buried by the West Metro Fire Rescue on the grounds of their stations throughout west Denver in Lakewood.
