A pair of ospreys tend to their nest on top of some powerline poles at the Raven Golf Club at Three Peaks golf course in Silverthorne on Sunday, July 3, 2005. The birds have use the poles for their nest for years, says Jim Banks, golf operations manager at the Raven. He says that the poles were originally part of a power line, but when the power line was moved, the nesting poles remained nearby, on the east side of hole #3 on the course, in hopes the birds would continue to use them, which they did. Banks says the birds come back every year, usually on the same day, April 4, "sometimes the weather's better and sometimes it's worse, but they always show up on the same day...It's pretty amazing.
