Billy Bay, cq, an employee at Metal Treating and Research Co., cools off his head after sticking his hard hat into a freezer used to deep freeze metal parts. While the machine was only set to 60 degrees at the time, it was a much needed reprieve from the 130 plus degree temperatures inside the building. Workers endured the heat from furnaces used to treat metal parts at the unincorporated Denver company on Wednesday, July 20, 2005, a day where temperatures outside topped 102 degrees.
