An image of the Governor's Mansion located at 8th and Logan taken on Tuesday, July 19, 2005. State agencies spent homeland security money on salvation army clothes for a mock catastrophe and on lunches during a tabletop disaster exercise in Vail. But millions of dollars in expenditures aimed at making Colorado safer remain a mystery and out of sight from the public. The state today releases 7,500 pages of documents outlining how its appropriation of homeland security money was doled out over the last couple of years to other state agencies. At the Governors mansion fiber optic cables were installed which would allow the government to be run from a remote location. Along with other security upgrades at the cost of 84,000 dollars.
