Broker Bill Dobson (right, cq) of Buena Vista shows Suzanne (left, cq) and Jack Caskey (center, cq) of Aspen a map of the lots still available in the "South Main" development one afternoon. The Caskey's were looking at a couple of different lots in the development. Professional kayakers and brother and sister Katie (cq) and Jed Selby (cq) of Buena Vista got into real estate development when a piece of prime river front along the Arkansas River in Buena Vista was slated for development that would have closed off river access along the stretch. Instead of more "McMansions" the two envisioned a small town utopia that included a whitewater park, bike trails, shops, coffehouses, art galleries and housing. The project called "South Main" is unique for a town like Buena Vista and Jed said, "I never thought I'd ever be a developer". In the foreground is Dobson's male Cairne Terrier "Ouzel".
