During a formal ceremony called Remembering the Brave, families of fallen Marines were presented with posthumous medals. After the ceremony, Marines who served with the men allowed themselves to grieve for the first time. After seeing his friend, Lance Cpl. Kyle Burns, die in Iraq, Lance Cpl. Mike Ball said, "I started to let the tears come, but we had patrol in 10 minutes. You have to shut it off. We just got in the vehicles and started driving. That night when I got back, I actually tried to get back to that place, I tried to mourn, but it was gone. And I knew I'd have to wait." (TODD HEISLER/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
