Mike Miller sprays water on the snow laden branches of the tree as the snow continues to fall in the front yard of his mothers house on S. Bellaire St. He was friends with the deceased. They had recently had a neighborhood barbeque. He also said he had tried this experiment during the snowstorm of 2003 and he lost no branches. He is also a recent former resident of the neighborhood. This time the tree did lose one branch. All information according to Mr. Miller. This morning an elderly female resident (authorities have not confirmed her identity) of 3055 S. Bellaire St., Denver, Colo., Monday, October 10, 2005, was struck and killed by a falling tree branch. The resident was struck while in the driveway of neighbor Jan Frazier (cq), 3061 S. Bellaire St., when the incident occured. Jan Frazier said she heard a scream from inside her home, came out and saw the woman lying on the driveway. She has medical experience in a hospital emergency room, took the woman's pulse, feeling nothing, she called 911. Trent Speier, (cq), 3051 S. Bellaire St., said he talked with the woman only 15 seconds before the accident occured offering to shovel her walks for her so she would not need to do it. At present, authorities were on the scene taking pertinent information. (Photo by STEVEN R. NICKERSON / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)**Jan Frazier, Trent Speier, Mike Miller **
