Alejandro Medrano (cq), stands on the dry soil he was preparing to plants Pasilla Chile plants in his family's field in the foothill town of Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango in Mexico Thursday May 19, 2005. Migration from Papasquiaro to the United States has been high due to job loss caused by a twelve-year drought and deforestation. The lack of jobs has also made the town a hub for drug trafficking from the Sierra Madre Occidental. Papasquiaro is one of the many towns inhabited by alleged cop killer Raul Garcia-Gomez's family. Garcia-Gomez is being sought for the murder of Denver Police Detective Donald Young. (MARIA J. AVILA/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) Alejandro Medrano (cq)
