(5/16/05,Colorado Springs, Colorado) Amy Flynn (cq), 18, is the 2004/2005 Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind Prom Queen. She has attended school here since she was in the seventh grade, will graduate this year and move back to Denver full-time where she will start college at Metro in the Fall. Amy is visually impaired and hard of hearing. Because of her afflictions, she could possibly wake up tomorrow and be totally deaf and totally blind. "In ten years I want to be working as a child life specialist in a children's hospital in Denver or D.C. I do not know about a husband or children yet - we'll see in ten years!" "If I could change one thing it would be that everyone would be nice to each other for a change! We would be one big happy family. There would be no hatred, no prejudice, no racism, no road rage. I just want everybody to get along." "The biggest outside source that has helped me to succeed is my family and my friends that have been very supportive to me. As for myself, I find no point in worrying about things that cannot be helped because if I did I would be a very bitter, grumpy person." (Judy Walgren/The Rocky Mountain News) Amy Flynn (cq)
