(5/17/05,Hooper, Colorado) Specialist Travis W. Anderson, 28, was killed on Friday the thirteenth just outside of Bayji, Iraq working with the Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion. He was from a small farming community called Hooper, 20 miles north of Alamosa, and most of his family lives there still. He dropped out of high school and decided to go back and get his diploma when he was 26 so he could join the army. His family said that his greatest love was hunting and that he always wanted to be a sniper for the army. He died doing what he loved.
