The Freedom Wall's 4,000 gold stars commemorate the more than 400,000 Americans who lost their lives in World War II. A group of about 100 Colorado veterans that served in World War II have traveled to Washington D.C. for Saturday's dedication ceremony of the National World War II Memorial. The memorial, nearly 60 years in the making, is located between the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial and honors the 16 million who served and 400,000 who gave their lives in the war.
