According to Haswhitefacehorse the staffs represent humanity and they must honor them and thank them. Members of the National Run for World Peace ran with the staffs from Denver to Boulder on Thursday. The run, sponsored by Youth Leaders in Action, is to promote awareness of environmental and peace issues. The runners are doing the South branch of the run. The runners are comprised of indigenous and non-indigenous youth and they are running with staffs that have been blessed by elders from different indigenous traditions. Today about 20 runners ran from Denver to Boulder. (CHRIS SCHNEIDER/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) ** Ajani Chavez (cq), Mark De Laq Cruz-Chavez (cq), Haswhitefacehorse (cq)
