University of Northern Colorado professor of anthropology Bob Brunswig holds an arrow point that he estimates was probably about 600 years old and was found during excavations near Walden. He said they have found some fragments that may be as old as 9,000 years old. The University of Northern Colorado archaeology field school is excavating and documenting an approximately 10,000 year-old Paleoindian site where arrow points and stone hunting blinds have been discovered . They are excavating short-term summer camps near Walden, Co. that were used by these nomadic hunter-gatherers on Tuesday June 7, 2005. (MARC PISCOTTY/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) CQ Bob Brunswig
