Sheila Vang (cq), 12, a member of the New Generation of Home Girls, which is a dance group made up Hmong girls, waits in the wings of the auditorium in the Tivoli Student Center for the performers from The New Generation of Hmong Dancers to finish their routine so her group can go on. Fellow dancer Jeannie Lee (cq), 11, is to the right. They were performing for the party after eighty-one people from nineteen countries became U.S. citizens at 10:30 a.m. on June 20, 2005 in a ceremony held by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Tivoli Student Union on the Auraria campus. The ceremony was held on Monday to honor World Refugee Day. (Judy Walgren/The Rocky Mountain News)
