"it's 10:46am says Harold's talking wristwatch as he holds it close to his ear to hear the time. Wednesday, June 1, 2005, Brush, Colo. Harold and Stan Gray(cq) are father and son. Harold just celebrated his 104th birthday. Until recently, the two were living under the roof of the family home at 413 Everett St., Brush, Colo. Stan had retired and moved back in to take care of his father for as long as possible keeping dad as independent as he knew how. Recently, however, Harold has faultered in his health and the family with their doctor decided a nursing home was the best choice for long term constant care. They selected Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center, 122 Hospital Road, Brush, Colo., not too far away. Now Stan visits every other day and insists on doing Harold's laundry because the facility does not hang them properly and there are too many residents with wrinkled clothes. When Harold asks, Stan quietly will bring in an ice cold bottle of beer and split it with his dad while sharing the days events to keep Harold current. *(Carolyn Mickey is CEO of Eben Ezer, information at 970-842-2861-ext. 217) (STEVEN R.
