The Commerce City 40th Annual Memorial Day Parade was held on May 30, 2005 and at least 8000 people were expected to watch it, making it Colorado's largest Memorial Day Parade. The weather was chilly, but that did not keep the people away. Minerva Padilla (cq) waves to the crowd from a float sponsored by various churches in the area. She has a son who is stationed on the USS Maryland, a nuclear submarine. (JUDY WALGREN/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) Minerva Padilla (cq)
