DLM2561 Alan Frank, right, and his daughter Kristah, 16, drive past a field of winter wheat near their home in Gilcrest, Colo. Wed., June 27, 2007.Frank had 12 wells shut down and now has only a small amount of surface water to farm with. Since having his wells turned off Frank has tried to adapt and grows less corn and more crops such as winter wheat and sunflowers that require a lot less water. Wheat and sunflowers are not worth as much as an irrigated corn crop and Frank said he has seen his total revenue decrease by about 75 percent.Frank's wells are in the Central Colorado Water Conservancy District Well Augmentation Subdistrict.
