MJM407 Cary Weldon (cq) poses for a portrait in front of a black bear in summer home Tuesday July 17, 2007 on the property outside of Parachute, Colo. where a nuclear blast was used in 1969 to drill for gas. The Project Rulison Nuclear Explosive Emplacement Well sits on Weldon's property close to his log home. When it was discovered that the gas was contaminated, a three mile no drilling radius was drawn up, but now oil companies are attempting to drill within the three mile safety zone.
