Dancers, from a mix of East African countries dance to traditional music as part of the Sabaree Africa Cultural Organization, a non-profit designed to encourage newly arrived refugees, to keep their African roots alive through dancing. The African Community Center of Denver introduces newly arriving refugees to American holidays and traditions. Refugees from all over the world, including nations like Sudan, Iraq, Ethiopia, Somalia, Turquey and Burma celebrated America's Birthday in Washington Park on July 1st, 2007 in Denver. Americans, East and Central African's and Euroasians enjoyed food, games and other festivities as each newly arrived resident exchanged common experiences and new smiles.
