Cindy Dietz (cq) folds an American Flag with the help of officer Mike Garcia (cq) on the west steps of the Capitol building in Denver. A Flag presentation for the family of Navy SEAL Danny Dietz (cq) who died in January 28th, 2005 was presented to his family on June 28th, 2007 on the west steps of the State Capitol in Denver. This 25 year-old fromLittleton, Colorado died while conducting counter-terrorism operations in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Coalition forces located the sailor while conducting a combat search and rescue operation July 4, 2005 in Kunar Province. Dietz's whereabouts had been unknown since June 28, 2005. He was assigned to SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team Two, Virginia Beach, Virginia. In a brief ceremony in which State Senator Steve Ward (cq) presented the family with the flag that will eventually fly over Danny's memorial in Litleton, CO. The flag, donated to the Dietz family by Senator Ward, flew over Bagram Airfield, located in the ancient city of Bagram, Afghanistan, at the same time Danny was serving in Afghanistan.
