87 year-old Fay Shepperd (cq) sits on one of the chairs at her restaurant in Kit Carson, Colorado on Wednesday, December 26, 2007. Fay and "Shepp" Sheppard opened Shepp's Motel and Restaurant in tiny Kit Carson more than 40 years ago, after the couple, originally from Oklahoma, moved from California in search of a place to open a business. Today, her daughter, 69-year-old Margaret De Vault (cq) and Fay are the only employees of the 10-room motel and diner. Now the family is looking to sell, so Fay - who will be 88 in April - can stop working 14-hour days. There's no telling how busy they'll be from day to day, since all the business comes from travelers. "No one intends to stay here," Margaret says. "It just depends who drives by."
