(DEER TRAIL shot on 3/31/05) A pair of buffalo walk through the snow trying to catch up with other members of the herd on a ranch near Peoria, Co. (Exit 322 off of I-70) Thursday after a potent winter storm barreled out of the Colorado mountains and pounded the Eastern Plains, dropping up to 8 inches of snow, closing schools and highways and piling up 4-foot drifts in places. This storm will soon be a distant memory as temperatures over the weekend are expected to reach the high 60s and low 70s. There was only a couple of inches of snow on the ground near Peoria.
