(REDSTONE, Colo., March 15, 2005) VIEWFINDER - The Redstone Coke Ovens right on hwy 133 have always interested me but I never found a interesting way to photograph them until now. I used my Nikon D2-H and the widest lens I have; a Nikon 14 mm. I crawled inside and had my strobe connected off camera with a cord. I measured the light coming through the hole in the top and matched my strobe's out put to be the same. The coke ovens were built in the late 1890's to carbonize or "coke" coal mined in the area.
