(1/22/05, Pudukkuppam, India) Vasunthe lost five family members in the tsunami - hermother, 2 brothers, a sister and a nephew. She lives in Samiyarpettai. She suffers from severe migraines and was not only looking for medicine from the women's health section at the medical camp, but also an ear to listen to her sadness. Lee Mayer, a nurse practitioner from the Bay Area said that many women have been coming into the women's health tent and have just wailed and cried because it is a safe place to do that. "Grief manifests itself in such horrible ways - these women who have lost their loved ones would just rather die for the most part. Furthermore, women are so overlooked in India that if they do not moan and cry, no one will listen to them. Here they can unburden themselves." (Judy Walgren, Rocky Mountain News)
