Chaffee County Sheriff Tim Walker (cq) stands in front Chaffee County Courthouse in Salida, Colorado May 3, 2005, as he speaks about the death of Salida resident Ken Clark. Walker was a close friend of Ken Clark, a 60 year old retired prison guard, highly regarded in the community, who was shot to death by two Salida Police officers Sunday morning May 1, 2005 after Clark's wife called for an ambulance because her husband was suffering from a diabetic seizure. Police responded. Clark was armed with a gun and after twenty minutes of negotiating, he made a move towards the officers and was shot. Walker defended the officers actions saying, "they used more than proper restraint." He went on to say what happened was "tragic," and that he will miss his friend.
