A North High School senior, left, and her sister, bottom center, and their mother, right, chat about her future after her upcoming high school graduation, while she tried on her cap and gown for the family at their home. The senior girl is the first in her family to graduate from high school. She has maintained a 3.3 grade point average, but will have to return to her native Mexico because she is undocumented, and cannot afford to attend a university as a foreigner in the United States. She plans to study law, at Universidad Autonoma in Mexico City. (MARIA J. AVILA/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS) Araceli(cq), Liliana(cq), Emily (cq name given by mother Araceli), Guadalupe (cq) (We are not using the first and last names, or city of residence because they are undocumented. Publisher John Temple has OKed us NOT using their names)
