CONTACT: Wendy Krajewski P: (303) 687-0141 NORTHGLENN HOUSE FIRE DISPLACES FAMILY Northglenn, CO—At 1:20 p.m. today North Metro Fire Rescue was called to 9678 Lou Drive on a bi-level home that was on fire. North Metro and Thornton Fire Fighters arrived on scene and found fire on the back side of the home, pushing through the structure. Two children were at home, but had safely evacuated prior to fire department’s arrival. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze, but the fire and smoke damage was severe. The family will be displaced and Red Cross was contacted for assistance. A live power line was also down in the backyard as a result of the fire. Excel Energy did respond and the power was turned off. North Metro Fire Investigators are just beginning their investigation. From initial reports, the origin of the fire appears to be on the back side of the home, possibly outside the structure. Until further investigation has been conducted no exact origin or cause has been determined. North Metro Fire Rescue is dedicated to your quality care.
