(1/4/05,DENVER, CO) 2000 students from the Denver Christmas Conference will deliver Holiday Care Boxes filled with food to 730 needy Denver families on Tuesday. For the disadvantaged, the first few weeks of January can be especially tough. Each box is filled with $ 25.50 worth of food staples like rice, beans, pasta and cooking oil to help a needy family restock their pantry. More than $ 18,600 worth of food will be given to less fortunate families. The Denver Christmas Conference has partnered with a number of inner city churches to identify neighborhoods where the Boxes would be most helpful. These students will be putting their faith into action. Students Tricia Walker, (middle) from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, Christine Bodin, (white hat) from Mississippi State University, Elisa Lindau, (front left) from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, Chris Carey, (front right) from CU Boulder, and Eric Davis, from Johnson Bible College in Tennessee, (behind Eric) all pray for their mission to go well before heading out to hand out food and religious material.
