Elevenmile Canyon, Colo.-November 5,2004- Government crews and volunteers are doing work to improve the trout habitat in Elevenmile Canyon , south of Lake George. They maneuvered large, dead trees taken from the Haymen Fire burn area and place them in the South Platte River of Elevenmile Canyon to provide shelter for the rainbow, brown, and cutthroat that live in the river. L to R: Pete Gallagher of Fin-Up Habitat Consultants, Mark Herndon of the Upper South Platte Coalition, Jeff Spohn and Paul Winkle of the DOW. (George Kochaniec, Jr./Rocky Mountain News)
