Manual Freshman students , (from left) Kahdijah James (cq) Jessica Keys (cq) and Shayua Yarber (cq) prepare for Saturday's debate, as students at four urban high schools in Denver will debate for the first time Saturday as DPS joins a growing trend of urban districts taking up the oratory sport, fueled by the National Urban Debate League. We hang out with students from Manual High School this week as they prepare and fold in the life stories of the two local co-founders - lawyers Rico Munn and Roberto Corroda, two minority kids who say debate in high school compelled them to go to law school. Munn now runs the state Department of Regulatory Affairs and Corroda is on staff at DU law school. (JAVIER MANZANO / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
