(Centennial, Colo., December 31, 2004) The Colorado Avalanche Sled Hockey Team hosted a regional sled hockey tournament at the South Suburban Family Sports Center this weekend. Sled Hockey is played like traditional ice hockey on a standard rink, except that players with disabilities sit in specially-designed sled instead of wearing skates. They use two short hockey sticks with metal picks on the ends to propel themselves and the puck across the ice. In this photo, Kelsey Morgan, 9, celebrates his goal against the White Team as team mate Savanna Dearing, 8, looks on in a "Little Avs" game Friday. Competition continues Saturday with games beginning 9am and last game at 6:45pm and Sunday starting at 8am with the championship game starting at 11:15am. (Photo by Hal Stoelzle/ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
