The three traveled to Washington D.C. together and were hoping to have their picture taken in front of the Colorado column, there is a column for each state and territory in the U.S. All three are from the Cortez area. A group of about 100 Colorado veterans that served in World War II have traveled to Washington D.C. for Saturday's dedication ceremony of the National World War II Memorial. The memorial, nearly 60 years in the making, is located between the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial and honors the 16 million who served and 400,000 who gave their lives in the war.
