(LAKEWOOD, Colo., October 5, 2004) Paul Peubla, Lakewood, far left in navy, works to finish readying his rifle for a post war firing..... Red Rocks Community College, 13300 W. 6th Avenue, held a Civil War Reenactment within its 2nd annual Civil War Day. The event was sponsored by the RRCC Veteran's Club and featured the skirmish between the Union and Confederate troop re-enactors from the Company D 1st Colorado Volunteers Infantry (union) and 1st Lousiana Wheat's Special Batallion (confederate). In addition, the day long expose had dressed soldiers speaking of details of "then" in a "now" kinda setting. Students of the school came down and asked questions and acted surprised as information, formerly unknown, was disseminated. (Photo by STEVEN R NICKERSON / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
