Metro Organizations for People (MOP) meets with parents, teachers, Denver Public Schools board members, and DPS superintendent Jerry Wartgow at Cole Middle School in Denver, Colo., on Wednesday, May 26, 2004. MOP constructed the meeting to announce their concerns, propose changes, and ask the school officials to respond. Members of the Voices Heard Committee illustrate their concern for minority school attendance and dropout rates by wearing signs on their backs stating "Opportunity lost!", each turning around to symbolize the loss of a potential graduate or college student. Left to right: Alejandra Bravo (Manual High School), Caitlin Kromrey (CU Boulder student, East High School graduate, daughter of MOP director, Mike Kromrey), Jesus Hinojosa (Denver City College), and Israel Zubia (North High School).
