(DENVER, Co., SHOT 10/12/2004) For a 1-5 football team like Denver East High School the distractions can be plentiful when you're not winning. Head coach Dave Sidwell said getting the kids to practice every day is the hardest part of his job but necessary if they hope to restart a winning tradition at the school. Denver East, a powerhouse in 5A football back in the 1960's, has more recently fallen on tough times. The team is hoping they can reclaim some of their former glory after hiring Dave Sidwell, an alumni of the school who has coached at a number of Denver schools as well as in college and the NFL.
