The Front Range sustains a growing wine industry. On Monday August 6, 2007 Julie Balistreri, left with nose in wine glass, and her father, the winemaker, John Balistreri, (cq both) offer wine samples and answer questions for a media tour in the tasting room of the Balistreri Vineyards in Unincorporated Adams County at 1946 East 66th. Ave. to better educate the public on the success of local winemakers. They are also the only local winemakers with a few acres of their own vines which grows a highly limited amount of Denver, Colo. grapes for wine. The family tradition dates back to John learning wine making from his father and other family members passing it down and preferring to do it their way. (STEVEN R. NICKERSON / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS), Julie and John Balistreri (cq)
