Tuesday's election could change the classic western look - the Welcome to Golden sign and the bronze buffalo in front of the Buffalo Rose saloon along Washington St, in Golden, Colo. on Monday, November 5, 2007. Whoever is voted into the city council seats will be a factor in Golden holding onto it's identity. Golden's historic character -- and tying the new light rail station into the existing downtown -- are key questions in the race to fill the three seats. Candidates seem very much aware that their city at the foot of the Rockies has a special identity, not unlike Boulder. (photo by Linda McConnell/Special to Rocky Mountain News)
