(Denver, Colo., September 16, 2004) Realizing the importance of being sensitive to the needs of people suffering from mental health challenges, the Denver Police Department has implemented the Crisis Intervention Team. Over 250 officers have been trained in C.I.T. in the past twp years. On Wednesday (9-16-04) training was continued at the Denver Sheriff's Academy. Jeremy Owen , of The Crisis Company, was hired as one of the role players during the instruction.He was playing the role of a psychotic man at an overpass while Officer Matt Grimsley (rt) of the Denver Police Department talks with him.
