Operation Rescue joined with a number of pro-life activist groups at a press conference in Denver on Thursday to discuss plans for demonstrations during the Democratic National Convention to be held next August. The news conference was held in front of the Pepsi Center on Chopper Circle. "We are taking steps now to insure that the First Amendment rights of the people to speak out are upheld in the City of Denver during the DNC", Reverend Patrick Mahoney (cq) said. "We know that certain permit processes have been changed by the city to make free speech more difficult during the Democratic Party event, and that should be very concerning to every American who values freedom", said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.
