Mackenzie, a student at the school, transferred from Fairview Elementary and receives the therapy at the clinic. She has neurological challenges and has dramatically progressed since she began visiting the clinic. The school has established an in-shool based health care clinic with Barbara O'Brien (cq) the lieutenant governor, who is announcing a $1 million funding grant. The government says the clinics are sometimes the only preventive care kids receive, but they have come under some scrutiny lately as a result of proposals that they distribute birth control to teens.
