(DENVER, Co., SHOT 9/7/2004) The San Francisco Giants' Barry Bonds is three home runs short of 700, a feat topped only in major league history by Babe Ruth (714) and Hank Aaron (755). The Giants play a two game series against the Rockies at Coors Field, Tuesday and Wednesday. Bonds steps up to the plate getting ready to bat in the top of the seventh inning. He singled off the outfield wall on a line drive shot that was nearly his second homerun of the night. (Photo by MARC PISCOTTY / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
