The Aurora Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint that night just west of S. Buckley Rd. on eastbound Iliff Ave. Arlene Gavrilis was killed in the early morning hours June 4, 2005, a day that was to have been Gavrilis' wedding day. Her car was struck by another vehicle driven by an impaired driver traveling in excess of 100 mph. NOTE: Aurora PD should be contacted for a final count of cars that passed through the checkpoint and the number of arrests that resulted. (MARK T.
