Joseph B. Trujillo (dob: 10-16-63) is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals (F6). On November 4, 2007 Denver police officers responded to the 100 block of south Bryant Street to assist animal control officers on a report of a dead dog, a Chihuahua that had been killed and put into a dumpster. The charge alleges that Trujillo became upset with the dog and beat it to death with a shovel. He was taken into custody at the scene. Trujillo remains in custody in the Denver County Jail. His bond is set at $2,500. He is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court, room 12T, tomorrow, November 9, 2007 at 9 a.m. to be formally advised of the charge. The presumptive range for sentencing on a class 6 felony is up to 18 months in prison.
