(BRUSH, Colo., March 29, 2004) Harold waits his turn as the family gathers to celebrate the departure of a great family friend. Stan and Harold Gray threw a farewell party for Josie Benudo. She has been a weekly employee and great friend to Harold's deceased wife for over 18 years. A life resident of Brush, Josie will be moving to Arkansas to be near her daughter and grandchildren. A new adventure for her but a sad farewell for the local folks celebrating her existence. Stan is the son and Harold is the dad. For both, the battle continues from youth forward til now. The challenge is to keep Harold, 103, in his home for as long as possible. This is the home where the family was raised and Stan was conceived. Stan, 74, is a retired pilot working part time in local benefits to military employees and veterans. (Photo by: STEVEN R. NICKERSON//ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
