Fort Carson-based Staff Sgt. Matthew Keil is welcomed to Colorado by his sister-in-law Christine Townsley (cq) and her daughters Sydney, 7, left, and Samantha, 4. Christine's mother Lyne Wyatt (cq), Matt's mother-in-law, is behind them. Matt was flown from Florida to Centinneal Airport May 24, 2007, with his wife Tracy Keil (cq) so he can start receiving treatment at Craig Hospital for injuries he received after being shot in Iraq on February 24, 2007, by a sniper. The bullet went through the right side of his neck, which severed his spine, clipped an artery and his left lung and exited out of the left side of his back. Although Matt is quadripalegic, he recently moved his left arm in the VA hospital in Tampa, FLA. His wife's family arranged to have a hero's welcome for Matt as he arrived.
