DLM0920 Rifle High School principal Todd Ellis stands at the front door of the school next to a poster that students put up after a 14-year-old white girl was attacked by an older Hispanic girl in an incident that many suggested typified the growing racial tensions at the school in Rifle, Colo. Some students at the school said they thought the racial aspect of the attack was overblown. In an effort to settle things down and unite the student body some teens took it upon themselves to put up posters with slogans like "We are all bears," referring to the schools mascot, and "Big Happy Family RHS." Ellis said he was proud of the students for taking the initiative.
