Kirsten Gates (cq) (r), a social studies teacher at The Denver Center For International Studies, talks with mother Brigitte Baehre (cq) (center) about the text books she uses in her class. Brigitte's daughter Sophia Koopmeiners, 12, is a Denver Waldorf student and she and her parents are looking into high schools for her to attend. The family came to an informal breakfast at The Denver Center For International Studies on Thursday, February 22 to learn more about the new DPS magnet school for 6th-12th grade that offers unique international education opportunities. Students there choose their language from an impressive range - French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese with the hope of offering Arabic next year. People attending the informational breakfast spoke with current students, teachers, and administration members and they toured the school, visited classrooms, and spoke with teachers.
