Rescue workers from Clear Creek Fire and Rescue process the scene of an accident on eastbound I-70 at exit 218, involving a 15 passenger CME (Colorado Mountain Express) van that collided with a parked CDOT plow Sunday morning March 25, 2007. The CDOT plow was blocking off a closed portion of the interstate, protecting a State Trooper who was cleaning up some spilled fuel. Traffic was diverted off of I-70 onto an off ramp and then back on the interstate on the on ramp. The driver of the van missed the off ramp, continued on the interstate and smashed into the side of the 80, 000 pound plow, moving it eight feet. Eight people were in the van.
