(DENVER, Colo., August 16, 2004) A worker sets a headstone in the active burial area near the expansion project. Small black markers behind the man are temporary markers awaiting headstones. Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. is removing trees and working on preparing the expansion project to allow more bodies to be buried in the cemetery. Enviornmentalists are upset. Also, at current burial rates, the cemetery could run out of space by the end of the year. ***(It was specified by Tricia Blocher, 303-761-0117, to identify no grave markers or headstones, note: identification numbers also appear on the back of the headstones even with names only on front of most, also all working personnel were to not be identified as per her request)*** (Photo by STEVEN R NICKERSON / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
