( FREDERICK CO., August 12, 2004) Staff Sgt. Gary Schultes, left top of frame, and Sgt. 1st Class Robert Almgren, top right of frame, work with others to unfurl the flag as it climbs the pole. A 30' x 50' United States flag was dedicated and raised today in honor of the 3650th Maintenance Company of the Colorado Army National Guard. It cost about $35,000 to landscape and make and install the flag atop a 100' flagpole at the junction of Interstate 25 and Colorado Highway 52 in the lot adjacent to the Coffee Urn truck stop owned by Mark and Brenda Foster (cell: 907-481-3487, information on details and costs from them). About a dozen uniformed soldiers from the company appeared and served as flag raisers. (Photo by STEVEN R NICKERSON / ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS)
